Reviving the Essence of Qur’anic Recitation in a Technologically Advanced Era
In this time and era when technology has advanced tremendously and man has progressed in matters pertaining to Dunya to such heights that were once unimaginable, we therefore find that it is imperative to also enhance our knowledge and quality of Deen. The core of Islam is the Noble Qur’ān. Allāh Ta’ālā has entrusted man with the responsibility of correctly reciting the Noble Qur’ān.
The Qur’an was revealed with precision and beauty, and its correct recitation (Tajweed) is not just an art but a divine command. Allah Ta’ālā instructs:
“And recite the Qur’an with Tarteel (slow, measured recitation).” (Surah Muzzammil, Verse 4)
For centuries, the Ummah has upheld the noble tradition of Ḥifdh and Qirā’āt, ensuring that the Qur’ān is preserved in both letter and spirit. However, in recent times, the focus has often shifted solely to memorization, sometimes at the cost of accuracy in pronunciation and rules. This compromises the true essence of Qur’ān recitation.
At Tarteel Academy, we strive to instill excellence in both memorization and recitation, ensuring that our students uphold the highest standards of Tajweed. Through structured learning, dedication, and spiritual discipline, we nurture individuals who not only memorize the Qur’an but also recite it in the manner revealed to Rasulullah (Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam).
Our goal is simple yet profound: to revive the quality of Qur’anic recitation and ensure that every Ḥāfidh and Qāri emerges as a true bearer of the Word of Allāh.
